Our mission is to Create Flourishing Workplaces

The Q2 Way provides a framework for organizations to successfully scale their businesses so people can flourish and workplaces can achieve

The Q2 Way examines
three questions:

HEAD

How results are achieved?

A Q2 Culture achieves results as it has Clarity of key goals and targets that are shared across the business. It has a strategy and an operational rhythm for achieving these results and work is organized in a way that allows for efficient and effective execution of work.

HEART

How teams are connected?

"In the Q2 Way, the 'HEART' represents the emotional core of the organization, focusing on creating a Sense of Belonging and Psychological Safety, the bedrocks of high performance. The Q2 way creates connection as people feel safe to be themselves; they feel safe enough to innovate and ask others for help. It also creates connections by encouraging collaboration across the organization and prioritizing social engagement across teams. Authentic care for employees underpins this pillar of the Q2 Way.

SOUL

How people are inspired?

A Q2 Culture has Clarity of purpose and a mission that inspires people. It has a set of core values that are lived by every person in the company and there is a focus on continuous growth toward fulfilling an individual’s and the organization's purpose.

Why the Q2 Way?

  • The Q2 Way can significantly help organizations scale their business by focusing on key elements that drive optimal performance

  • The Q2 Way is a way to create a sustainable high-performing organization

  • It includes workshops and roadmap creation to create lasting change

  • It includes solutions to move into Q2 and to create a flourishing workplace

  • The Q2 Way is steeped in theoretical frameworks and blends expertise in business, psychology and human behaviour

  • The Q2 Way gives you a data-driven culture baseline that identifies blockers to high-performance under the three pillars of the HEAD, HEART and SOUL of the organization

The Q2 Way
Matrix

The Q2 Way Matrix categorizes an organization into four quadrants: Forcing, Flourishing, Floundering, and Floating. As you will see on the graphic, there are two axes; including people & culture and effort & results.

An organization can spend a period in any of the four quadrants, for example, if the business is struggling to achieve its numbers, it can move into Q1 to 'force' performance improvement. Or if the business is exceeding its targets, it may drift into Q3 and focus more on people and culture. However, for consistent high performance, an organization should strive to maintain a Q2 status. The Q2 Way guides an organization to the Q2 quadrant. The first step is to measure where you are now and benchmark against the Q2 standard. The Q2 Way will then formulate a roadmap to bridge the gaps, ensuring an alignment of HEAD, HEART, and SOUL elements. This balance creates an environment for the organization to flourish.

Floundering

When an organization is floundering, it produces inconsistent results and fails to tap into the potential that lies in its people and its culture. The organization can drift sporadically from Q1, forcing for results, to Q3, celebrating its people, but overall, it resides mainly in Q4. Strategy is lacking or, if present, is superficial and misaligned. People can feel frustrated and leave, and results are unpredictable, resulting in a business that struggles to scale.

Floating

When an organization is floating, it prioritizes people, relationships, networks and feeling and process, targets and plans come second.

Forcing

When an organization is forcing, it prioritizes results and outcomes. Its focus is on planning, executing, measuring KPIs, and achieving targets, often at the expense of any real focus on its people and culture. This creates an imbalance and misalignment, resulting in a struggle to consistently achieve high performance.

Flourishing

Flourishing balances its focus on both 'people and results,' and this translates into consistent high performance.

The Three Pillars of the Q2 Way.

As you will see below, the matrix overlaps with Q2 Way three pillars to make it easy for us to understand what distinguishes Q2 from the other zones. In the forcing zone, an organization is head dominant, in the Q3 floating zone an organization is HEART and SOUL dominant. In the Q2 zone, an organization will have equal focus on the HEAD, HEART and the SOUL.

The Three Pillars of the Q2 Way

The Q2 Way is built on three pillars of The HEAD, The HEART and The SOUL. While many businesses spend much of their management time focusing on results, The HEAD pillar, most performance, innovation and growth comes from the HEART and SOUL pillars. Q2 organizations have a balance across the three pillars resulting in strategic alignment that drives consistent high performance.
